Secretary Report:

Minutes from last meeting approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

•    KidzArt costs covered by percentage given back for facility use
•    Donation was made to Citizens for Better Schools
•    Popcorn sales continue to be strong
•    Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Ongoing Business:

Principal’s wish lists.  Glenwood computer costs and specs will be researched by Mr. Maloney and he will report back to the PTO.

Upcoming Events:

Movie Nights are coming up:
•    February 26th – Laurin Movie Night, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
•    March 5th – Glenwood Movie Night, Monsters Inc.

WinterHawks Sale – 40 tickets have sold for a profit of $180.

Cookie Dough sale at Laurin – dates to be determined.

1st week of May – Teacher Appreciation.  Kim Dunford has volunteered to chair this event for Glenwood.

April 22nd   6:00-7:00 pm, Glenwood Open House/Sundae Night; PTO to purchase supplies for sundae bar; volunteers needed.

Mrs. Brisbois, the Glenwood Librarian, is organizing a Read Across America event. The book chosen is the Mouse and the Motorcycle.  It’s a month long event beginning with a literacy night kick off.  Every family gets a book to read and events are organized around the book such as trivia, in class reading and discussion.  Builds community because every one is reading the same book; promotes literacy.  LRC funds will be used to front the costs and families will be asked to purchase books.   Popcorn money may be used to replenish LRC Funds. She is looking into grants to offset costs and parents could purchase a book $4 and sponsor another family.

New Business:

Glenwood needs PTO to write a check for the Oregon Coast Aquarium assembly.  Motion to approve check $360 for the assembly.  Money coming out popcorn sale profits.
