Events/Ongoing Business:

Harvest Festival – Angela Tait gave a report.  Many volunteers were sick and so there was a shortage.  Organizing was chaotic.  She will make notes about things to remember and suggestions for the chair person next year.  She has leftover food, water, soda and candy in her garage.  Angela had professional signs made for the event.  She would like to get the signs laminated.  Lisa suggested having a Harvest Fest follow up meeting to hash things out and get a notebook together.  We’ll start a new file for PTO on the Harvest Fest.  Angela suggested getting together a committee near the end of the school year so that there is already a committee formed when school starts.

Cocoa and Caring scheduled for December 11th.  This is a Glenwood event.  Cubby Choir sings at the event.  Lisa, Carlene and Jamie will organize the event.

Jamie asked how often she should disburse WinterHawk flyers for the February 20th fundraiser game.

Carlene got initial approval from Glenwood to get a shed for the PTO on the Glenwood.  More research will be done and reported at the next meeting.

New Business:

Tom O’Connor, a volunteer Organizational Change Consultant, presented the BGSD Strategic Plan.  In January 2008, the strategic plan planning process started and is now com,.  He is sharing the plan and is soliciting input from the group and asking us to discuss the results with other parents.  He passed out copies for review.  A decision was made that the “customer” is the student.  So questions can be asked from that perspective.  What services should be provided to the student?  Intent is to make sure that everyone in the district is working toward the same set of goals.  Outlines strategies and tactics.  Parents can provide input by emailing Thomas@windmountaingroup.com.  Chart will be on the BGSD web site next week.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
